Awkward TV: Not Feeling Good About David Hasselhoff

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, NBC, Video,

If you were to combine Patrick Swayze’s “She’s Like the Wind” with Katie Holmes’ So You think You Can Dance performance and any musical number from William Shatner, you might get this.

On last night’s broadcast of America’s Got Talent, the audience was forced to endure a performance from “a real American icon.” (Those were Nick Cannon’s words, not mine.)

“He acts, he sings, he dances and he also talks a lot on this show. With a Hofftastic performance of ‘Feelin’ Good,’ give it up for !”

Note to Heidi Montag: If you’re going to suck, at least do it live.

  • Jon & Kate Plus Eight (TLC, 9pm):  Jon & Kate make some life-changing decisions. Well, Kate technically made the decision; Jon just didn’t want to argue.

  • Make It or Break It (ABC Family, 9pm):  Series premiere. “In this drama focusing on the lives of teen gymnasts who strive to make it to the Olympics, new girl Emily Kmetko begins training alongside veterans who are both impressed with and threatened by her.” This could bring a whole new definition to the term “punch front.”
  • Run’s House (MTV, 10pm):  “The family rallies around JoJo after he’s charged with marijuana possession.” This whole time they had a connection within the home.

Jerry Springer Leaves America’s Got Talent

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, NBC,

Jerry SpringerAmerica may have talent…but it doesn’t have a host.

Jerry Springer, the host of , is leaving after several seasons on the job. The 64-year-old joined the NBC series back in 2007, one year after Regis Philbin helped launch the program.

In a statement, Springer said his departure was a result of conflicting schedules. “These last two seasons, working with everyone associated with the show and all the extraordinary and talented performers across America, has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. This summer, I will be pursuing a wonderful opportunity in the theatre. That, coupled with my syndicated talk how leaves my plate more than full and thus, I will not be returning for Season Four,” Jerry explained.

No replacement has yet been announced for the summer hit. Meanwhile, auditions for America’s Got Talent 4 have already begun.

ABC’s Wednesday lineup - a victim of last year’s writers strike - had a large hurdle to overcome last night. Unfortunately, the viewers were not where the Alphabet network left them. The audiences (along with the demos) were all over at CBS.
